South Devon Athletic Club History
Spring 1997 saw the merger of Brixham and Devonia AC . Initially the club opted for the name Brixham and Devonia AC before choosing the current name South Devon AC later in the year. A club competition produced the yellow and blue vest designed by Adam Nott. The vest and its lettering have remained unchanged since then.
Nic Andrews recorded SDAC’ s first National level achievement later in 1997 when he won the AAA’s U17 Mens 800m in Birmingham .In 1999 he won the English Schools senior boys 800m and the AAA’ s U20 800m. In the same year he represented Great Britain Juniors three times , winning a silver medal in the 800m in the European Junior Championships.
